From a graphic standpoint the proposal steered clear of representating the concept literally, opting instead for a transgressive and rough typographic formalization. The design took cues from some of the visual stereotypes often seen on tabloids and news chyrons, thereby linking the analog and the digital to convey the concept of the festival in a contemporary, functional way. In terms of composition, the various ingredients (lineup, imagery, programming…) were juxtaposed in anarchic ways that helped reinforce their dynamism. Color was spared altogether to increase the contrast between elements, and to intensify the grimness in the festival’s graphic design.
